P roPak Asia 2018, held from 13-16 June, once again achieved success through their continued commitment to provide the latest machines, technologies, and solutions for the processing & packaging industries. For 26 years, ProPak Asia has served as a platformto connectmanufacturers and suppliers with solutions for optimising and enhancing their capabilities, while visitors are able to explore current trends, such as IoT machines, robot co-workers, and manufacturing systems simulations. In line with demand for digital technologies, Mr. Timo Frankl, Head of Sales Digitalisation Asia/Pacifc, Krones gave a presentation on ReadyKit – the latest IT solution for line optimisation. ReadyKit provides a system for consistent IT interlinkage of your ̬lling lines that procures raw data from production machines and creates information from them. This year was bigger than ever both in exhibition space and the number of attendees. ProPak Asia 2018 presented 1,581 exhibitors from 44 countries, and 18 international pavilions, attracting 48,799 buyers from 79 countries. The number of overseas buyers also increased signi̬cantly, up 10.8% from the previous year with the top 12 Asian countries attending. ProPak Asia remains an important platform for companies such as Buhler and The Japan Food Machinery Manufacturers’ Association to gain access to the Asia market at large.
